Viruses, bacteria, and mold… Oh my!
What are germs?
Germs can be defined as tiny organisms, or living things that have the ability cause disease. Germs are so small and sneaky that they can creep into our bodies without being noticed. When they do get into our bodies, we most times don’t know what hit us until we are sick. Unfortunately the germs now reside inside us and continue to multiply and grow reeking havoc on our body.
Some interesting facts about germs.
Viruses:|
Viruses can live and remain active on many surfaces for up to 5 days acting as time bomb until an unsuspecting person makes contact and become a new host for the virus to grow.
Bacteria:|
One single bacteria cell can multiply to become more than 8 million cells in less than 24 hours.
Mold:|
Mold reproduces by producing spores. These spores are designed to be carried by air currents and dispersed. Some mold species produce large numbers of spores (tens of thousands) even from a small infestation (diameter of a coin) and can remain viable for years if not killed.
How do we protect you and your family from these invaders?
We manufacture a line of patented antimicrobial agents or anti-germ compounds. These mineral-based antimicrobials are non-toxic to humans but devastating to germs.
Often times the compounds are incorporated directly into plastics, paper fibers, or various coatings. Once incorporated, any product made from these materials now has a surface that bacteria or mold simply won’t live on. In addition to this use however, our antimicrobial compounds are also used as stand alone treatment medias for items such as drinking water or aquarium filters. Other common uses are: humidifiers, counter tops, children’s toys, kitchen utensils, air filtration as well as many others.
